Quality Control is an important aspect of production at Polar Plastics
First samples are completely laid out and dimensions recorded.
Foundry Control procedures are established during the sampling stage and form the basis of in process control to avoid deviations.
Final Inspection, co-ordinated with the customer, assures compliance with drawings and specifications.
Rejection of samples or production lots of castings is often traced back to a lack of communication between the buyer and the foundry.
The following information should be on every drawing:
1. TOLERANCES
2. FILLET AND CORNER RADII
3. CASTING IDENTIFICATION
4. SURFACE FINISH
5. LOCATION AND AMOUNT OF MACHINING
6. MATERIAL AND HEAT TREATING SPECIFICATIONS
7. INSPECTION SPECIFICATIONS OR PROCEDURES
8. FINAL FINISH OF THE PART
